The Newfoundland & Labrador Public Health Association (NLPHA) is an independent, voluntary, non-profit provincial advocacy group comprised of health professionals, community members, and affiliated organizations who promote and support public health.

​

The Association is affiliated with the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) and is a member of the Canadian Network of Public Health Associations.

Origins of the NLPHA

On January 24, 1979, Newfoundland Public Health Association received its Certificate of Incorporation under the Companies Act of Newfoundland & Labrador. On January 8, 2007 NLPHA's Articles of Incorporation were amended under the Corporations Act of Newfoundland & Labrador to reflect the name change of our organization to Newfoundland & Labrador Public Health Association
